At our most recent Quarterly Church Business Meeting Triangle Baptist unanimously reaffirmed its commitment to our belief and practice that both men and women are called to serve God in every area of church leadership. We believe that this is consistent with the full teaching in regards to this matter in the New Testament.
In addition, because of an innocent error related to our church’s denominational giving, Triangle has been classified as a Southern Baptist Church by the SBC and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina for the past several years. The church was unaware of this. When the church was made aware of this denominational identity issue, the Finance Team brought a motion of “non-affiliation” with the Southern Baptist Convention to the church for action. The church unanimously voted to affirm the motion of “non-affiliation” with the Southern Baptist Convention effective immediately. While this was the church’s historic stance, it was good and right to have it reaffirmed in this season of ministry.
