Speakers
Rev. Cathy Storey
Cathy serves as Triangle Baptist’s
Family Minister. Cathy is responsible for providing leadership for the various family-focused ministries and discipleship programs. She has served in multiple ministry roles over the past 30 years, specifically for ministry to children and their families.
Rev. Storey graduated from Excelsior College with a B.S. in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Family
Studies. She completed a certification in Preschool and Children’s Ministry at Campbell University Divinity School. She is currently a student at Campbell University Divinity School, where she is pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree with a concentration in History and Theology.
She is passionate about families and helping everyone grow like Jesus grew—in wisdom, knowledge, and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
Cathy has been married to Scot for
37 years. They have three children, all of whom are married, and three
grandchildren. She loves crafting,
especially quilting and making things with her Cricut.
Rev. Dr. Tom Ogburn
Rev. Dr. Tom Ogburn serves as the
Pastor at Triangle Baptist Church.
He provides pastoral leadership
and care for our church family, but
also offers strategic leadership as we begin a fresh season of
engaging our community in new
and purposeful ways.
Over the course of his ministry
journey, Tom has served as a
church planter in NC, as a
missionary in Southeast Asia, as a
collaboration and partnership-
focused missions leader, and as a
pastor in Oklahoma, Tennessee,
and North Carolina.
Tom has been married to Beth for
36 years, has two children who are
married to amazing spouses, and
has his first grandchild.
Tom loves old cowboy movies, is trying to grow his cooking skills,
and is a novice fly-fisherman.
Rev. Dr. Sarah Boberg
Rev. Dr. Sarah Boberg serves as the Assistant Professor of Christian Education at the Divinity School. She also serves as the Director of Empowering Families for Spiritual Formation, a Lilly Endowment Parenting and Caregiving Initiative.
Rev. Dr. Boberg graduated from
Campbell University with a B.A. in
Religion and Christian Ministries
and a Master of Divinity degree.
She completed her Ph.D. in
Educational Studies with a
concentration in Cultural
Foundations at the University of
North Carolina at Greensboro. Her
dissertation research focused on the call experiences of Baptist women in ministry.
Her passion is making ideas of
Christian scripture, theology, and
history accessible to all believers.
She believes the keys to Christian education include preparation and flexibility.
She served as the Minister of
Children and Spiritual Formation
at Ox Hill Baptist Church in
Chantilly, V A before beginning as a
full-time professor at Campbell.
Before serving at Ox Hill she served 12 years as the Minister of Youth and Children at First Baptist
Church in Red Springs, NC.
Sarah is married to Rev. Bradley
Boberg who serves as the
Congregational Stewardship
Officer for the Cooperative Baptist
Fellowship. She has two beautiful
daughters, Scarlet and Lydia. In her
free time, Sarah enjoys music,
dancing, spending time with her
family and vacations to Disney World.
Rev. Dr. Ron & Shirley Cava
Shirley and Ron are natives of Virginia and moved to North Carolina in 1983. They have been married for 42 years and have four wonderful children, all of whom are married and have children. They have ten grandchildren ranging in
age from 5 months to 20 years old. Their two oldest grandchildren are from blended families, leaving 8 rugrats under the age of 10! They also have a 12-year-old blue-eyed dog to keep them company when none of the grands are around.
Ron is completing his thirteenth year as the Senior Minister of First Baptist Church, Henderson, NC. Shirley teaches 8th-grade Language Arts at Vance Charter
School. They both hold undergraduate degrees from Campbell University, where
Ron also completed his Doctor of
Ministry in the Divinity School.
Ron and Shirley enjoy playing golf,
traveling, music, good meals, and strong coffee.
